What is Facilitation and How Can it Help You?

When people are busy, time is tight, and decisions need to be made, that’s when meetings need to be worthwhile and conversations productive. A meeting facilitator will plan an agenda, create the right space for the right conversations, and guide everyone present towards pre-agreed outcomes.

Whether you’re beginning a new collaboration, developing a business strategy, or working through complex decisions, our network of expert facilitators will be there to support you.

“I learned how much ground could be covered in one and a half days!”

Through our facilitation services, Harrison Network helps:

  • Drive decisions without influencing them
  • Align priorities from strategy to tactics
  • Challenge unhelpful behaviour and patterns
  • Dig deeper to identify and overcome sticking points
  • Mediate between sensitive relationships and situations
  • Improve collaboration and teamwork

You always push us until we are absolutely certain of our thinking and position. – BECBC

Why work with us?

We’re not afraid of tough conversations and we have the experience to navigate through them successfully, getting our hands dirty in the process. Our handpicked team of facilitators are adaptable, with proven success whether we’re working with the people on the ground or senior executives in the boardroom.

Since Harrison Network was founded in 2017, we’ve developed a diverse network of carefully selected facilitators who have proven their ability. That means that we can effectively link you with the right person (or people) for your desired outcomes.

How It Works

1. Discuss your objectives

Before you commit to anything, let’s have a conversation about what you need and how we could work together. We’re committed to providing a facilitation service that’s as valuable to you as possible, which is why we only work with organisations that we truly believe we can help. Getting to know each other is a vital first step.

2. Find the right facilitator

Thanks to the facilitator network we’ve developed over the years, we can bring a range of skillsets to varied scenarios. You might work with Lucy for strategy facilitation, Nev for organisational change facilitation, Heather for values and principles, Murray for confident decision-making, or any of our other expert facilitators. We’ll take a close look at your requirements before matching you with the person who will bring you the most relevant experience and expertise.

3. Sort the paperwork

Once everyone is happy to go ahead, we’ll arrange contracts and paperwork and get everything signed. We know this part can take some time, especially when procurement and other teams are involved. We have lots of experience navigating this, and will be ready to provide all the information you need.

4. Get into the nitty gritty

The next steps will depend on your exact requirements, but we’ll work together to get set up for success, taking a deeper look at needs, desired outcomes, and any political or personal nuances that need to be taken into account. We include pre-meetings to draft and review agendas and understand parameters before checking logistics and delivering. By building a fully-rounded picture, we can develop a carefully tailored session (or sessions) that will move conversations forward and help drive action.
